Dear family,
Today has been a fun p-day. we went to a stake center in a city called san antonio de pardua and played some volleyball and soccer and ate yummy food. basically it was a party because the zone i´m in right now broke the record or something last transfer and so they have lunch with the president if they do. there were two zones there. it was fun. but i still dont´really know anyone, and so i don´t really talk to anyone...i just do my thaaang.haha (gina...that one´s for you.)
ok, let´s see. we have had several miracles this week. we are teaching someone named juan manuel dadone. he is 22 and he started coming to church a couple of weeks ago with his girlfriend. we have been trying to teach him, but he is always at work and so we really can never teach him, but he still comes to church. anyway, so the miracle is that we have run into him several times during the week. fortunately for us there were 2 fediados (holidays) and so he was out and about one of those days because he didn´t have work. and we ran into him. haha but 2 times earlier in the week we ran into him. it is really funny, because we never just happen to run into anyone. EVER. it really is a miracle. obviously Heavenly Father really wants us to be able to teach him. plus we have another conflict, because the aunt of his girlfriend doesn´t like it when we call him or talk to him (we don´t know why because she is a memeber, but she says she doesn´t want us pressuring him into being baptized) and so it has been really hard to talk to him let alone teach him anything. my poor companion was yelled (quite literally unfortunately) at on sunday by this aunt because we tried to call him the night before and see if he was going to church the next morning. it was really sad. and she started to cry because of everything that went wrong this past sunday and then this just burst her bubble. but it is ok. there are big problems in this ward with the members and it is really sad. but things are improving! it is amazing the miracles we have seen. haha and don´t worry, there are some really good things about this ward too.
but be grateful for our home ward. there are so many people that make our ward great, but it all starts with the members. if a ward is bad, then it is the members fault, and they need to do something to change it. you can´t always rely on your bishopric to change everthing.
oh and then sunday when we were walking to our lunch appointment a boy stopped us and said, "are you the mormons?" so we talked with him. his grandma is an inactive member and he said he wants to be baptized. haha, golden contact. his name is Abram. If he will take the time to keep the commitments he will see that there is hope in this world. I think he has had a pretty hard life and it isn´t in his nature to do wrong. just a good kid.
it was a miracle because this was after all the problems in church on sunday. we were so happy. actually, h. salazar started laughing when he said he wanted to be baptized. he looked at her like, "what´s so funny?" haha.
this is random, but my hair is getting longer. (haha gina, that one´s for you too) haha i´m so excited! i like short hair, but i miss my long hair. and EVERYONE here (ok that was an exaggeration) has long hair. anyway, i can now pretty reasonably put it into a small ponytail. it is so nice. now i don´t have to wash my hair everyday.....hahahahahaha (andrew...you love that i just know it).
the weather has been nice. but you never know if it is going to rain or be hot, so it is kind of a guessing game in the morning deciding what to wear. i´ve been very fortunate so far and i haven´t frozen or died of heat stroke.
anyway, i guess that is all.
love sarah
oh, erik. i think the empenadas here are different than they were in chile. my companion says they are a lot smaller here than in chile, they are still yummy though. jacob, did you have empenadas?
ok peace.
