Week 11 lost in space

We think Sarah's latest letter got lost in cyberspace because this is all we got:

oh happy anniversary to erik and aubrie as well. :)

At least we know she's alive and well.

Her letter finally came!

Dear family,
So, guess what. The world is going crazy with destruction and Argentina is going crazy. Well not really. They have been talking about it a lot obviously, but they are glad they are safe. At the same time though, some people are worried because Argentina is in no way built for any kind of disaster. They just never have earthquakes or anything, so they would know how to handle the situation and their buildings would all tumble because they are all terrible. haha. But seriously, it would be bad if there was a disaster here. I´m just waiting for it to happen.

Ok, my addresses that I forgot to give you. The address that I am supposed to have mail and other things sent to is:

Hermana Sarah Yingling
Misión Argentina BAW
C.C. Nº 92
1702 Ciudadela
Buenos Aires, Argentina

so to all my friends (since I have sooo many...:D), because I can´t email any friends or cousins or anyone really, that is where you are supposed to send mail. Or you can just send letters through DearElder. It is way easier...and cheaper. Plus I don´t know how often I´ll get mail from this address, but I get letters from dearelder every week....anyway, yeah.

Now for the good stuff...haha
The man sitting next to me makes me sad. He is playing some computer game with the volume up all loud and he just shoots people and it just sounds awful. haha Reminds me of when Erik and Jacob used to be addicted to computer games....haha. such a waste of time. This poor man isn´t just wasting time, but also money. It isn´t cheap to use the internet here! Well, i´m just a cheap person and I don´t like to spend money on anything but food, so maybe that is why I think like that.

Speaking of computer games...two boys we are teaching Alberto 15 and Ariel 11 (yes ariel is a boy....i thought it was a girl at first...haha until i met him...) love WarCraft. I think that is what they play. I´m not all knowing when it comes to computer games (but for other things...yes...haha), so yeah..i don´t really know. Anyway, they stay up all hours of the night playing these games, and they can´t get up to go to church. it is so sad. they don´t even know what they are doing. they want to get baptized...and they want their family life to change, but because they are so young, they can´t see that it is them that has to change. they think that their mom causes all the problems (because parents are evil and cause all problems in the whole wide world until you are 18 or older and you realize they were always right) but we promised them that if they went to church, their family would be better. not because their mother would change (she is a recent convert) but because they would change. We are really hoping they will go to church this week.

My companion told me that the area we are in right now is really bad. It is true. There is a lot of fixing that needs to be done. Fortunately a good mission leader in the ward was called. He isn´t afraid to tell people what´s up and that is exactly what needs to be done. Also, the people in the ward are kind of lazy, and because of this many have become inactive because they were offended. ugh...lame huh? I get sad when people say things like that. Honestly, the people here just don´t understand the consequence of their laziness... it is sad. I wish everyone could serve a mission to understand how every little action (literally) affects the work of the Lord. If we sin, we fall further from Christ thus making it harder to understand whisperings of the Spirit, thus making it harder to do things for others that the Holy Ghost prompts us to do. If we are lazy, we don´t get anything done. If we are angry, we can hurt people´s feelings....etc. Everything. It is crazy.

Oh yeah, this week I got to sew some men´s underwear for a service. haha. I used a surger and it was sooo fast. holy cow! I couldn´t even control that thing. Oh, and we stopped by an inactive members house and her kids had just started learning how to play the violin, so she let me play. I didnt´undertand what was going on at first because the bow was curved the opposite direction. So I thought, "well, i´m a little dummy (pff...haha mom it is just a phrase...haha andrew) and maybe they just have a different kind of bow..." so I tried it. and it wasn´t even working at all. plus because i can´t really speak spanish, let alone anything about violins or music, I just used it. but then the teacher came over and he showed me that it was tooo tight. haha duh. eliza and abby, the bow was sooo tight that it was curved the other way. it was terrible!!! and you can´t even play with it like that. it is the worst thing ever. but i got to play a little bit (for like 5 maybe 10 min) and then we left. i decided I should "need to borrow their violin" for a ward function and ask the mom to bring it (she is the inactive member). I hope this tactic works. haha and it was so good to play the violin again. i miss it. but there is no time to play anyway.

speaking of violins. president benton knows several people who are coming down here (that live in utah) and he said if i still wanted to bring my violin down, i could have you take it to one of their houses, and they could bring it safely. my companion who is argentinan says that no one is going to steal a violin. i think she is right. but...that being said, maybe it should still be eliza´s. and she could use mine. (just send my music and switch out the shoulder rests). or not send it at all. i could just rent (from somewhere) if I need/want to play it sometime. the reality it, this might be a better option, because i don´t have tons of time to perform (it would only be at baptisms...maybe in church...firesides...etc. all of which don´t happen too frequently here) anyway.

anyway, let me know what you think about all that parentals.

ok my last story. the other day (two days ago i think) it down poured and we weren´t expecting it so we didn´t have an umbrella or anything. it was a lot of rain by utah standards. i asked if that was a lot for here and my companion said, more or less... I loved it. fortuantely a member let us use plastic bags for our books and and umbrella. and my shoes were soaked through. it was nice to have a break from the heat for a couple days. it felt like spring in utah. perfect.

anyway, lot of amor.

Bonita chicita sarita flacita gordita hermanita and all other itas you can think of. :)
