Dear family,

I started writing in spanish for the subject, but then remembered that you probably wouldn´t understand if i continued. haha oops. my brain is all confused.

So, this week we had our goodbye meeting with President Benton. 3 more days and he will be in Boston, and we will have a new President. I have a feeling things are going to be changing quite a bit. Its going to be weird for sure. Also, this upcoming week might be my last week in my first area. We´ll see if I stay another transfer or not. It´s weird not knowing because everyone in the ward wants to know if I´ll be leaving or not so they can feed us. haha. It has been pretty cold here. Well off and on. It's the worst because we are so lucky to be sisters and have to wear skirts all day. haha

Lets see, I can't think of what else to write....Ok. I know. I don't really have much time to write a lot...like usual. It seems like something always comes up. haha. We had to go to the doctors today because my companion has a pretty bad in-grown toenail and some problems with her neck. So we just spent our time there. Fortunately she has me as a companion, because the doctor doesn't speak hardly any spanish, so she didn't understand anything and they didn't understand her. I was the translator. She has to take a whole bunch of stuff and then we have to go in again on Thursday to remove her toenail.

Our investigator Eduardo finally went to church this Sunday. We talked about the importance of going to church during the Gospel Principles class. He felt pretty bad I think that he hasn't been going to church. He has really progressed a lot. He has started reading the book of mormon more regularly and he has completely quit smoking. We got special permission to baptize him this Saturday. I'm going to be praying that he won't have a smoking relapse so that he can be baptized.

Anyway, that's about all. Oh, this sunday I met a guy that is studying at BYU. He is in Argentina for an internship and served in Ituzaingo 4th ward like 4 years ago i think. one of his converts who has been inactive came to church with him. I was super happy. I hope he continues to come.... Oh yeah, one of the recent converts in Ituzaingo 4th ward (Juan Manuel Dadone, remember him?) gave a talk on Sunday. It was about missionary work. He said he has been thinking a lot about a mission... :) So now we just have to help him get there. He is 22, so he has plenty of time. Really, this work is a miraculous one.

Love, Sarah

Dear family,

Ok, i don´t have a lot of time to write. yesterday was a holiday (they have one here about every 2 or three week it seem like) and so EVERYTHING was closed. so we didn´t have a way to email. so now we are trying to email this morning before we head to our district meeting. ok, first of all before i forget, HAPPY FATHER´S DAY DAD!!! and to my brother´s as well. Holy Smokes, can´t believe you are both fathers. haha. And that is so cool that Patrick was blessed on the anniversary of Jacob and Becky. Happy anniversary!!! And that´s cool that abby got braces.

ok, let´s see. we had a baptism this past saturday. it is amazing how Heavenly Father blesses you for your diligence. Even though we have had a lot of trials this transfer with our investigators, Heavenly Father is still throwing out miracles right and left. The very first Sunday of our transfer we went to church and there was a new member who just moved into the ward. She had been inactive for a long time but had a change of heart and has really committed to being active. But, she had a 9 year old son (Alexander Ramirez) who was never baptized. So, we started teaching him and he loves praying, loves reading the scriptures and the liahona, and basically is just a miracle.

We fortunately didn´t have lunch on saturday, so we went to the church to eat and we had the feeling we should check the baptisimal font and start filling it. Good thing too!! we opened up the door and there was old, old water that had dead bugs and everything in the font. not just that, but there was a whole bunch of film on the walls too. So, we stripped our shoes and socks and started cleaning. Good thing the brother that was in charge of filling the font showed up, because he helped a lot. haha. The problem was we had to clean it really, really fast because it takes about 3 hrs to fill and we only had 2 1/2 until the baptism. we were blessed to not have many problems and everything turned out great.

anyway, no more time to write. i´ll try to send pictures the following monday. :)

love you all,
Sarah

Querido Famigos...haha,

Ok, let´s see. This week we had stake conference, and we got to hear from Elder Packer. They came to Argentina and broadcasted to everyone in Argentina. It was really great. But other than that it was a hard week. We worked hard, only to end up with almost nothing. That is the saddest, when you don´t see the fruits of your work. But for sure Heavenly Father put challenges in our path to test our faith and our patience. But we did have one huge miracle this past week.

Our investigator named Eduardo (45 yrs.) went to the adult session of stake conference and he really liked it. We showed up and he was in suit and tie and everything. It was great. And he told us that he talked to his mom (because he has been really worried about disrespecting his parents because they chose to baptized him as a baby) and I guess she got really angry saying he was crazy for talking with the Mormons. But he told his mom that he wants to be baptized and that the mormons have never done anything wrong to him. Oh yeah, and he quit smoking cold turkey. He told us if we showed up to his house last monday he would never smoke again. We showed up and he handed us his last cigarette that he had. I had it in my pocket the rest of the night and then my jacket smelled like cigarette´s....YUCK!

Anyway, that was pretty much our week.
Until next week!

Dearest family,

I dont really have much time to write, so im just going to write really fast. today i had to do my documents to be leagal here in argentina....yes i have been illegal this whole time. anyway, that is why we have no time to write. we got to go to the capital. the best way i can describe the capital is new york. but older. it was cool, and i took i think 2 or three pictures. haha. i liked it.

ok, i just want to share a cool experience. we have been working with a guy named Eduardo. he has multiple sclerosis. he was diagnosed 25 years ago but amazingly can still walk. usually after 7 years you are wheel chair bound. he cant walk very far in one day, but still can walk. anyway, he smokes a little bit too, because when he gets frustrated he likes to smoke. and he didnt want to get baptized because he feels like if he does he wont be respecting the decision his parents made to baptized him when he was a baby. anyway, we were fast that he would have the desire to quit smoking and yesterday we were talking to him about quitting for the millionth time...ok not really, but we have talked about it a lot. and he never wanted to set a baptisimal date. yesterday as we were leaving he said, ok, "when are you going to come back next" and we said "maybe tomorrow". he then said, "the next time you return, i promise i will never pick up a cigarette again". haha an dhe is a man of his words. he also said he would pray about being baptized july 2nd. so yes. i have a HUGE testimony of fasting, and the power we can receive from fasting and from prayer.

anyway, thats all folks!
until next week!
love, sarah anne
